The Lost Hour

The Lost Hour occurs during the Dimmik cycle, a strange and widely anticipated observance when time itself is believed to falter across Aeonyra. During this night, clocks drift, shadows linger too long, and many swear that an hour simply vanishes without explanation. Some experience fleeting déjà vu, while others recall conversations or moments that no one else remembers occurring at all. Whether the phenomenon is truly temporal in nature or merely a deeply rooted cultural belief remains uncertain.

Rather than resisting the unease, the people of Aeonyra embrace it through quiet revelry and nocturnal gatherings. Masks, mirrored lanterns, and distorted timepieces are common decorations, symbolizing uncertainty and the fluid nature of memory. Many intentionally leave part of the evening unplanned, allowing themselves to wander, reflect, or follow impulse without structure. The Lost Hour is viewed as a rare fracture in certainty—a moment when the rigid flow of time loosens, if only briefly.
