Ashmend
Ashmend is observed during the Harshlight cycle, when Aeonyra endures its hottest and most unforgiving season. The skies burn brighter, the air grows heavy with heat, and dry winds carry ash and dust across much of the continent. In Solthar especially, volcanic activity intensifies, causing the horizon itself to glow deep into the night. Ashmend is seen not as a season of comfort, but of endurance—when weakness is burned away and only resilience remains.
Celebrations are loud, fiery, and unrestrained. Great bonfires and forge-flares illuminate settlements long after sunset, while contests of strength, craft, and survival are held across the region. Weapons are reforged, old possessions are burned in ceremonial pyres, and many take Ashmend as a time to abandon failed paths and begin anew. Beneath the revelry lies a deeper belief shared throughout Solthar: destruction is not the opposite of creation, but a necessary part of it.
